Bonus points to anyone (except NinjaBaker) who can figure out from the candles how old I am.
Hard to say which was the best part of the day: lunch at Bertucci’s, matinee performance of the King of Prussia Players Pirates of Penzance, hanging out with family including DinoDaughter and beau, plus this crotchety old guy in his 80s whom I’ve known for years traveling with Dr. Kensington and munchkin, loving phone calls from other friends and family, or FaceBook birthday greetings.
From a gift perspective, it was the best haul I’ve had in years:
- Hand knitting from Dr. Kensington
- All four seasons of The Big Bang Theory on DVD from DDS
- Home-made hamentaschen (Nutella!) from DinoDaughter
- Chocolate (also from Dr. Kensington)
- Flowers from the COG
And wonderful news from my agent about my novel: my writing doesn’t suck. Translation: the book needs work, but at least I’m not being told to stick to practicing medicine and forget about serious writing.
Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a very special day.

Here is one more HAPPY BIRTHDAY hug and kiss from that COG (it is still March 4th) who enjoyed Dr. Dino’s birthday celebration as much as Dr. Dino did and who at the close of the festivities took Dr. Kensington and munchkin back home and then made it back home himself. And congrats on the nonsucking novel.

I can’t say that I guessed the candle configuration, but I looked it up on people-finders.ws. Work smarter, not harder!

Bonus points removed from Scott. The candles are in binary.

Happy birthday, Dr. Dino!!! I hope you have many more opportunities for Nutella hamentaschen (omg jealous), novel-writing, and adventures never-before-seen in your future!
(I was gonna guess 55. Would never have thought to parse the candles in binary. Very clever.)

It does say 55 in binary. Scott wins for not trusting the given information.
